L
ennar has acquired a significant tract of land northwest of Fort Worth for its new Ranchland community. The Miami-based homebuilder purchased the 1,800-acre property in New Fairview from Frisco-based Rockhill Capital & Investments. Financial details were not disclosed. Lennar plans to develop a master-planned community with over 4,000 homes and apartments or townhomes on the site near County Line Road and Farm to Market Road 407.
Ranchland is expected to have a substantial impact on New Fairview, which has an estimated population of 1,500 in 2023. Rockhill purchased the property in 2022 with development consultant Ocie Vest spearheading entitlements for the project. This acquisition adds to Lennar's growing presence in North Texas, including its expansion of the Northpointe community in northwest Fort Worth.
Lennar is also involved in several other residential projects across Texas, such as a 100-home 3D-printed community outside Austin and various developments in San Antonio. The company has launched affordable housing initiatives like Elm Trails tiny homes on the East Side of San Antonio. Additionally, Lennar is working with Elon Musk on a project near Bastrop called "Project Amazing."
