A
Franklin Lakes woman, Jennifer Iturralde Pina, has been indicted for allegedly destroying evidence related to a real estate scheme that spawned numerous lawsuits. According to officials, Pina destroyed her cell phone when federal investigators arrived with a warrant to seize it. This charge is in addition to the destruction of evidence charge she faced since November.
Pina and her husband, Cesar Pina, are at the center of over a dozen lawsuits filed by individuals who claim they were defrauded out of millions after investing in real estate through the couple's "Flipping NJ" account. In October 2023, Cesar Pina was charged with wire fraud as part of an alleged real estate investment scheme.
It is alleged that in February 2024, Jennifer Pina asked a friend to dissuade a witness from cooperating with investigators. When investigators arrived at her home with a warrant for the cell phone, Pina attempted to hide it by destroying and concealing the device. If convicted, she faces up to 20 years in prison and significant fines.
