The NUMA Group, a European operator of a digitalised hospitality platform, is entering the urban market with the acquisition of its first property in Basel. This marks another step in the company's strategic expansion in Switzerland, following Zurich. This new build project, owned by Ecoreal Schweizerische Immobilien Anlagestiftung, will comprise 60 design-oriented units. The property is specifically designed for digital hospitality operations. The opening, scheduled for the second half of 2027, will integrate the NUMA Group's digital concept into a Swiss urban centre.

The property, designed by Monoplan, integrates NUMA's digitalised hospitality concept into one of Switzerland's dynamic economic hubs. The concept features an end-to-end digital NUMA Guest Journey, as well as contemporary architecture and high operational efficiency. Dimitri Chandogin, co-founder and board member of the NUMA Group, stated that Basel is a logical next step in Switzerland, as it extends their presence to another urban market with international and business demand.

The cooperation with Ecoreal Schweizerische Immobilien Anlagestiftung underscores the NUMA Group's strategy to enter into partnerships with institutional owners. Philipp Rohweder, Senior Advisor Real Estate at the NUMA Group, emphasised that this project reflects the strategy of developing high-quality, digitally-supported hospitality offerings in prime urban locations. With 60 units in the specially developed new building, a foundation is being laid for a long-term presence in Switzerland, which is to be expanded in the future. Florian Diener, Head of Construction and Development at Ecoreal Swiss Real Estate Investment Foundation, highlighted that the project development in Basel combines architectural quality with an innovative hospitality concept, which aligns with their investment strategy.

The new location in Basel is situated in an area with a long tradition in hospitality. The Hotel Basilisk was located here for almost fifty years, managed by the Cavegn family for three generations, until the property changed hands in 2021. Following a comprehensive redevelopment, the building, specifically designed for hotel operations, ties into this tradition of hospitality, combining it with contemporary architecture and sustainability standards. Due to its economic structure, cultural importance, and international connectivity, Basel is one of the key locations in the NUMA Group's long-term growth strategy in the DACH region.

The Basel project contributes to the NUMA Group's growth trajectory as a provider of digital hospitality platforms in Europe. The company is thus expanding its presence and continues to focus on properties in central urban locations.
