Panattoni Park Friedewald, near Bad Hersfeld in East Hesse, has achieved full occupancy. Panattoni, a developer of logistics, industrial, and commercial properties, successfully secured 4PL Central Station Group (4PLCS) as a long-term tenant for the entire available area of approximately 23,600 m². The handover to the international logistics service provider already took place on 1 July. 4PLCS will utilise the leased premises for the rail vehicle manufacturer Alstom.

The geographical position of Panattoni Park Friedewald, situated between the cities of Kassel, Erfurt, and Frankfurt, complemented by its direct connection to the A4 motorway, provides favourable conditions for national and international logistics processes. The area, which previously served for plastics manufacturing, was revitalised by Panattoni and transformed into a modern logistics park.

Requirements for Modern Logistics Locations

Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner of Panattoni DACH & Nordics, expressed satisfaction with the letting to 4PL Central Station Group. He emphasised that the decision for the Friedewald location underlines its ability to address the complex requirements of internationally operating industrial companies for contemporary logistics, offering a long-term perspective and high quality.

Mathias Dollak, CSCO at 4PL Central Station, highlighted the suitability of Panattoni Park Friedewald for the cooperation with Alstom. He referred to the excellent transport links, the building quality, and the opportunity to design logistics processes efficiently and sustainably. The new storage areas create a basis for efficient warehousing processes, optimised inventory management, and ensuring high material availability for the client Alstom.

Sustainability Certifications and Revitalisation

Panattoni Park Friedewald also meets high sustainability standards. The project was awarded the DGNB Gold certificate and received a DEBV Brownfield certificate for the successful revitalisation of a former industrial wasteland.

Julian Kempka, Mayor of Friedewald, commented that the redevelopment and repurposing of the former brownfield site, as well as the now achieved full occupancy, represent a project that combines economic development with a responsible use of existing areas. He stated this was a gain for Friedewald and a positive example of future-oriented site development. The tenancy was arranged by Immolox GmbH, who were responsible for the marketing activities in a co-lead mandate with primelog.
