For the site Am Pfahlgraben 4-10 in Pohlheim, the responsible building supervisory authority of the Gießen district has issued building permits for the construction of two new logistics properties. With this project, the Periskop Logistics Fund consistently continues its strategy of value creation within its existing property portfolio. The newly planned areas, which are spread over approximately 12,000 m² and 8,000 m², meet the current technical and ecological standards of the sector.
Dr. Kilian Mahler, Managing Partner of Periskop Logistics, emphasised the significance of these permits for a modern and sustainable logistics project in the centre of Hesse. He highlighted that the central location in the Rhine-Main region offers optimal distribution possibilities and creates ideal conditions for companies with regional or national logistics structures. The currently available spaces allow for the consideration of specific tenant requirements during the planning phase.
Location advantages and accessibility
The chosen location is characterised by its direct connection to the A5 motorway, which traverses the Rhine-Main region, one of Europe's most prominent logistics clusters. The excellent visibility of the areas from the motorway and the outstanding accessibility to central cities and markets represent a significant advantage. The city of Gießen can be reached within a few minutes. There is also optimal connectivity to Frankfurt am Main and other economic centres in the region, which underlines its attractiveness for logistics service providers, e-commerce companies, production facilities, and light industry firms.
Philipp Loth, Director Logistics & Light Industrial, added that the Pohlheim location particularly appeals to companies seeking modern, sustainable, and flexibly planable spaces. He stressed that Goldbeck's planning for the properties aims to provide economically efficient and ESG-compliant solutions that meet the highest user requirements. Goldbeck's construction execution ensures the implementation of these parameters.
Timeline and rental options
The completion of both logistics properties is slated for 2027. Prospective tenants from the logistics, e-commerce, production, or light industry sectors can already contact the Periskop Logistics team to inquire about the spaces and potential rental conditions. This allows for early adaptation to individual needs and requirements.
