PORR Hochbau West, Münster branch, has been commissioned with the expansion of OSMO's paint factory on Lütkenbecker Weg in Münster. This construction project, on behalf of Cordes Holding GmbH & Co. KG, comprises the new construction of halls 7 to 11 and serves to strengthen OSMO's traditional company site in the long term. The company has been producing high-quality wood finishes in Münster for over six decades and continuously develops its production and logistics capacities.
Construction of the project began in March 2026, with completion scheduled for February 2027. The expansion creates additional space for production and storage. For PORR, this construction project marks the continuation of a long-standing collaboration based on several jointly realised projects.
The core of the project is the new construction of halls 7 to 11 of the OSMO paint factory. PORR's scope of services includes the shell construction, facade cladding, installation of windows, doors, and gates in the facade, provision of loading docks, as well as interior doors and gates. Additionally, the construction of a canopy structure is part of the service scope.
The new buildings have a gross floor area of 22,548 square metres and a gross volume of 255,673 cubic metres. These construction measures create the necessary spatial conditions for further growth and the optimisation of production and logistics processes at OSMO.
A central requirement of the client is the timely completion of the entire construction project. Particular emphasis is placed on the punctual completion of Hall 8, as further processes on the client's side will immediately follow. The individual construction phases are closely interlinked and require precise coordination of all parties involved. To adhere to the schedule, the project team relies on just-in-time delivery and assembly of prefabricated construction elements to optimise site operations and efficiently manage construction times.
Mario Schniedergers, Site Manager Münster for PORR Hochbau, stated that reliability, a lived partnership, precise processes, and close coordination among all participants are crucial for this project. He emphasised that the timely provision of individual hall areas illustrates the importance of proactive planning and robust construction execution.
PORR also utilises internally established control and planning instruments. The Last Planner System, a Lean Construction method, is applied in the project, ensuring transparency, commitment, and schedule reliability in project execution. Additionally, PORR's technical office handles the planning of the canopy. This close link between planning and execution ensures quality, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to deadlines.
