Private real estate financier Ascent Developer Solutions has expanded its Los Angeles headquarters after surpassing USD 3.7 billion in lending volume just over two years since its inception. The company signed a lease for 22,000 square feet at Douglas Emmett's building at 15821 Ventura Boulevard in Encino, located in L.A.'s San Fernando Valley. This represents an increase of 13,000 square feet.
Over 150 employees now work for Ascent. The company stated that the larger headquarters will support both employee growth and the increasing volume of transactions. The firm's steady growth underscores the momentum in the private real estate finance sector.
Strategic Expansion and Personnel
In parallel with its physical expansion, Ascent has continuously broadened its geographical reach and product range. Most recently, it diversified into financing for mobile home parks and the development of infill sites. In July of this year, John Richardson was appointed as Chief Credit Officer. Richardson is based in the company's New England office in Massachusetts, which has nearly doubled its headcount since opening in June.
CEO Robert Wasmund founded Ascent in July 2024 with the backing of Elliott Investment Management. The firm specialises in short-term loans for acquisitions, renovations and new construction projects, covering single-family, developer, and multi-family homes. Additionally, Ascent offers bridge financing post-completion.
Diverse Financing Solutions
Ascent also provides revolving credit programmes and financing for mobile home parks. These loans can reach a volume of up to USD 100 million, highlighting the breadth of financing solutions offered and the company's ability to support large and complex projects.
