PROXITY has appointed Sofiane Ternifi as Head of Sustainability, effective 1 July 2026. This personnel decision underscores the company's strategic focus on sustainability as PROXITY expands its logistics platform in continental Europe. In his role, Mr Ternifi will report directly to Guido Piñol, Chief Executive Officer of PROXITY. His place of work is Frankfurt am Main.
In his new role, Ternifi will be responsible for implementing and further developing the sustainability strategy for PROXITY's pan-European portfolio. This includes managing sustainability initiatives, supporting the company's decarbonisation strategy, and ensuring compliance with requirements from investors, tenants, and regulatory authorities. The task requires close collaboration with the Asset Management, Project Development, and Letting departments to embed sustainability principles in all business processes.
Furthermore, he will be responsible for sustainability reporting and the disclosure of relevant key figures. Guido Piñol, CEO of PROXITY, emphasised that sustainability is of growing importance for customers, investors, and other stakeholders. He highlighted that the consistent integration of sustainability into the development, operation, and management of properties is crucial as the company's European platform is expanded. Piñol further stated that Sofiane Ternifi brings extensive expertise and a convincing track record.
Sofiane Ternifi's expertise and background
Sofiane Ternifi joins PROXITY from DWS Group, where he was responsible for sustainability activities within the company's real estate business in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. He possesses proven experience in the development and implementation of ESG strategies, sustainability reporting, climate risk management, and the execution of sustainability initiatives in large-scale real estate portfolios.
Ternifi himself stated that PROXITY has built a platform with a clear focus on operational excellence and long-term value creation. He expressed his pleasure at strengthening the company during this growth phase and, together with colleagues, further embedding sustainability across the business in Europe and responding to client requirements.
