The 'Auf IT gebaut – Construction Trades with a Future' competition, organised by the RKW Competence Centre and implemented by RG-Bau, has established itself as a significant young talent award for digitalisation in construction since its inception in 2002. This award is supported by the social partners of the construction industry and enjoys the backing of numerous sponsors and media partners. It offers young professionals a platform to present their creative and innovative digital solutions for construction practice, thereby fostering potential careers in the sector.
The 2027 competition round continues this tradition and is aimed at students, apprentices across the construction value chain, career starters, and founders. Participation is possible both as a team and as an individual. A prerequisite for a competition entry is the presentation of a digital solution that demonstrates innovative benefits for construction practice.
Prize Money and Categories
Prizes are awarded in four specific competition areas, each with a prize fund of 5,000 EUR. In addition to these categories, a start-up will be recognised with a separate special prize. Another special prize is awarded by Ed. Züblin AG, underscoring the broad recognition and support from key players in the construction industry.

The registration process for the competition has been optimised and automated to ensure easy and quick participation. The registration and submission deadline for entries is 26 October 2026. The festive award ceremony will take place on 12 January 2027, starting at 10:30 AM, on the Neo Stage in Hall C5 as part of BAU 2027 in Munich.
All prize-winning works from the 2027 competition round will be publicly presented throughout the entire trade fair, which runs from 11 to 15 January 2027.
