The Spectraforum in Korneuburg has reached an important construction phase with the completion of its shell. The project, which began construction in January this year, finished the shell phase in June, a milestone recently celebrated with a topping-out ceremony. A new regional healthcare facility, spanning approximately 1,500 square metres, is being built here and is expected to open by spring 2027.
The ophthalmological services provided by Dr. Reinhard Angermann and Dr. Bernhard Angermann will be significantly expanded at the Spectraforum. The treatment capacity of the Angermann ophthalmology practice is set to double compared to its current location, while the team will grow from 15 to approximately 20 employees. In addition to preventative examinations and retinal diagnostics, new focal points will include cataract operations, eyelid surgical procedures, early detection of eye diseases, and paediatric ophthalmology.
Strengthening regional healthcare
The concept of the Spectraforum aims to unite various healthcare professions under one roof and sustainably strengthen medical care in the region. The Angermann brothers expressed their delight at the timely construction progress, which, with the completion of the shell, makes the physical form of the project visible for the first time. Mayor Christian Gepp emphasised the project's importance for local quality of life and the creation of an expanded range of services relevant beyond the city limits during the topping-out ceremony.
The next construction phase involves the interior fit-out and technical equipment of the building. Plans include open, light-filled rooms, spacious waiting areas, and an expanded children's section to create a modern and patient-friendly environment. In addition to expanding ophthalmological care, the Spectraforum will also provide space for further training, lectures, and information events to promote knowledge transfer and prevention.
Interdisciplinary healthcare concept
This interdisciplinary concept will be complemented by the establishment of further service providers. The first confirmed partners are Hörakustik Knie (hearing acoustics) and the Centre for Health, Cosmetics and Longevity run by Isabell Adamek-Wimmer and Julia Wimmer. Dr. Reinhard and Dr. Bernhard Angermann describe the Spectraforum as a place where modern medicine, health knowledge, and interdisciplinary collaboration will come together to actively promote health awareness and prevention.
