Co-operation among German investment management companies
Ten investment management companies from Germany have joined forces and established a joint association. The objective of the newly formed organisation is to address the demanding challenges in cyber security collectively and significantly strengthen digital resilience across the group.
For investment management companies, safeguarding digital infrastructures and sensitive data assets has become a top priority. The proper management of institutional assets and real estate funds requires reliable IT security architectures to reduce operational risks and ward off potential outages or external attacks at an early stage.
Pooling expertise and security standards
By initiating the association, the participating German companies are seeking closer co-operation. A structured exchange of information on acute threat scenarios and preventive defence mechanisms is intended to help refine existing security concepts and keep administrative efforts cost-effective for individual market participants.
- —Establishment of harmonised standards for the early identification of digital risks
- —Exchange of expertise on securing critical interfaces and systems
- —Strengthening resilience and operational stability among the participating institutions
The joint establishment of the association illustrates that information security in the fund industry can no longer be tackled as an isolated task by a single company. The industry alliance serves as a central platform pooling technological insights and proven protective measures to reinforce the overall security architecture on a sustained basis.
In view of advancing automation in fund management and increasing connectivity with external service providers, the initiative sends a clear signal in favour of proactive risk management. This coordinated alliance of the ten companies thus makes a substantial contribution to the stability and professionalisation of the institutional market environment in Germany.
