Campus am Jungfernsee in Potsdam-Nord is reporting a significant new letting: TÜV Rheinland has opted for approximately 580 square metres of space in the WORKHUB 1 building. The completion of the tenant fit-out and the occupation of the premises are scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. With this settlement, the campus gains an internationally renowned inspection group, characterised by cross-industry activities in the field of technological and digital innovations.
TÜV Rheinland's presence underscores the campus's positioning as a hub for innovation. The SAP Innovation Lab, the company Wardow, and various IT companies are already located there. Within WORKHUB, two private universities and innovation-driven companies from different sectors are also present, jointly forming an active network on site. This fosters exchange and cooperation among the stakeholders.
Architecture and Location Quality as Decision Criteria
The choice of location and space in WORKHUB was determined by several factors from TÜV Rheinland's project team. Decisive factors included a modern rental option with a high standard of fit-out, an open spatial structure that allows flexible adaptation to the company's New Work concept, and the favourable location with good accessibility. The WORKHUB I and II buildings, designed by Bollinger + Fehlig Architekten GmbH, are characterised by a minimalist-industrial style, generous glass surfaces, abundant natural light, and a central atrium that serves as a meeting area and promotes exchange among campus tenants.
Giulia Berger, Asset Manager at Berlin Income One, expressed her delight at the new addition. She emphasised that for companies leasing office space, not only the quality of the space but also the quality of the entire environment is crucial. Flexibility in space design and rental options is just as relevant as a work environment that promotes personal exchange. In WORKHUB, a connection between nature and work is created through ample natural light, green spaces, and views of the Jungfernsee. Common areas and networking formats are intended to support exchange and connectivity. The decision of a globally operating company like TÜV Rheinland, which stands for technological innovation, digitalisation, and safety, confirms the ambition to develop a modern innovation hub at Jungfernsee.
Potsdam as a Strategic Business Location
Potsdam has become a conscious location choice for many companies, no longer considered merely an alternative to Berlin. The short distances to the capital, as well as proximity to science and research, are significant advantages here. The continuous development of the surroundings, including the new Krampnitz urban district and a grammar school currently under construction with an anticipated opening in 2027, underscores the long-term attractiveness of the location and its potential for further development.
