The Kösseine-Einkaufs-Center (KEC) in Marktredwitz records a significant achievement as part of its strategic revitalisation. VÖLKEL has succeeded in securing textile retailer Ernsting’s family for the location long-term. This agreement solidifies Ernsting’s family's position, as a long-standing tenant, as an essential component of the KEC's industry mix and underscores its lasting appeal.
The new contractual arrangement not only provides for the company's permanent presence in Marktredwitz but also involves a strategic reorientation on site. The Ernsting’s family branch will be relocated within the upper floor and substantially expanded. The opening of the enlarged retail space, scheduled for the end of November 2026, will allow for the presentation of a broader product range in a modernised environment.
Strategic development and commitment to the location
The successful contract extension is a result of ongoing modernisation and optimisation measures at the KEC. It demonstrates that the revitalisation initiated is yielding positive effects and offering reliable growth prospects to existing tenants. Christopher Kreuzer, Centre Manager for VÖLKEL at the KEC, highlighted the signal effect of this deal. He expressed his pleasure at the consistent commitment of a long-standing tenant like Ernsting’s family to the location. The combination of loyalty to the site, an internal relocation, and a simultaneous expansion of space is an optimal scenario for the KEC. This development proves great confidence in the centre's strategy and sustainably enhances the shopping experience for families throughout the region.
Management and location of the centre
VÖLKEL Real Estate GmbH has managed the Kösseine-Einkaufs-Center in Marktredwitz since 2013 on behalf of Berlinovo Immobilien Gesellschaft mbH. The areas of responsibility include centre management, facility management, and leasing. The centre is centrally located in Marktredwitz city centre and is characterised by its mixed use, which includes retail, offices, and a cinema. This underscores the relevance of the location for the regional infrastructure.
