Around eleven months after the start of above-ground construction, the W2 Campus project has reached a major milestone. The joint venture, comprising Stuttgart-based W2 Development GmbH and partners from the circle of Munich investors, celebrated the topping-out ceremony on schedule. With the completion of the structural shell, the scheme enters the next phase of construction.
The topping-out ceremony marks the rapid construction progress of the major commercial development. During the eleven-month structural construction phase, the structural and engineering foundations for future use were established. For the project partners involved, this progress reflects the coordinated execution of the building trades since the start of structural works.
Focus on climate neutrality in commercial building construction
The W2 Campus is distinguished by the ambition to be delivered as the largest climate-neutral office building. Against the backdrop of higher demands on energy efficiency and ecological standards, the concept aims to ensure sustainable building operations without avoidable emissions. This focus forms the design and technical core of the project.
The project is being delivered in close partnership. W2 Development GmbH contributes its expertise as a Stuttgart developer, while the Munich investor group secures the strategic foundation. By pooling these resources, the new-build construction has remained on schedule.
Milestones of the new-build development
- —Start of the structural construction phase just over eleven months ago
- —On-schedule completion of the structural shell and celebration of the topping-out ceremony
- —Joint venture between W2 Development GmbH from Stuttgart and Munich investors
- —Delivery concept as the largest climate-neutral office building
Following the completion of the shell, work is now focusing on the interior fit-out and closing the building envelope. Having reached this milestone, the joint venture is continuing the delivery of the W2 Campus to steer the project towards completion on schedule.
