CenterPoint Properties has sold another truck parking property in Miami-Dade County. The transaction totals US$51 million and was made to a waste management company. The 12-acre site at 17707 Northwest Miami Court in Miami Gardens, Florida, was transferred to the buyer firm, Waste Connections, based in Woodlands, Texas. This information is according to property records.
The extensive parking area is located directly off Interstate 95, north of the intersection with Florida’s Turnpike. It offers 370 parking spaces and a 3,786 square foot building. The acquirer specialises in waste collection services for private and commercial customers.
Strategic Sales by CenterPoint
CenterPoint had acquired the property in 2022 for US$47.5 million. This current transaction is CenterPoint's second sale of a truck terminal in Miami-Dade County within the last year. In October, the Oak Brook, Illinois-based company had already sold a 17-acre property near Miami International Airport to the logistics company Outpost for US$52 million.
CenterPoint had acquired the latter property in 2020 for US$29.5 million, representing a 77 percent appreciation in value within five years. The recent sales underscore a strategic move by CenterPoint Properties in the flourishing real estate market of Miami-Dade County. Neither representatives from Waste Connections nor from CenterPoint immediately responded to requests for comment on the recent transactions.
