Westbridge Poland Sp. z o.o., the Polish subsidiary of Westbridge Group, advised Skanska Commercial Development Europe Sp. z o.o. on structuring the green power supply for two of its office properties in Poland. This concerns the Wave properties in Gdańsk and Brama Miasta in Łódź. The new contracting of the electricity supply took place within the framework of a structured tender and award process for the supply year 2027.
Skanska has thus opted for a sustainable and reliable energy supply through green electricity for both properties. The managed electricity volume comprises approximately 3.25 gigawatt-hours, distributed across a total of four supply points. The properties are supplied via a fixed-price model, which allows for reliable budget planning. Additionally, the supply is evidenced by guarantees of origin from national renewable energy sources.
Focus on Strategic Energy Procurement
Anna Nienaltowska, Head of Sales Poland at Westbridge Poland, emphasised the importance of strategic energy procurement, which combines sustainability, cost security and risk management. She highlighted that in the commercial real estate sector, it is crucial not to view renewable energies in isolation, but to integrate them into a robust procurement structure. Westbridge Poland supported Skanska throughout this process.
For Skanska, the procurement of sustainable electricity represents an integral part of the company's sustainability strategy in ongoing building operations. In addition to the primary focus on renewable energies, economic conditions, transparency and planning certainty were particularly crucial criteria in the decision-making process.
Comprehensive Process Support
Westbridge Poland was responsible for the entire process support. This initially included a detailed market analysis and the subsequent tender for suitable energy suppliers. Following the evaluation of offers, final contract negotiations took place. A competitive procedure ultimately led to the selection of an energy supplier who will provide green electricity to both properties.
