The Alloheim Group, a leading private provider in the segment of inpatient care services in Germany, has entered into an agreement for the complete acquisition of ProCurand Care GmbH. This transaction stipulates that Alloheim will assume the shareholder role from the Theis Foundation, which was previously the owner of ProCurand Care GmbH. The acquisition marks a strategic expansion of the Alloheim Group's portfolio and solidifies its market position.
The ProCurand Group currently operates nineteen inpatient elderly care facilities, which have a capacity of approximately 1,550 beds. Some of these facilities are equipped with adjacent assisted living areas. In addition, four locations with exclusively assisted living properties are part of the portfolio. In total, ProCurand's assisted living sector comprises over 1,100 apartments, enabling the group to care for more than 2,500 residents and tenants daily. The service offering is complemented by four day care centres, one shared living community, and twelve outpatient care services.
Strategic Expansion and Regional Strengthening
Through the integration of ProCurand Care GmbH, the Alloheim Group further expands its position as the largest private player in the field of inpatient care services in Germany. This takeover leads to a noticeable strengthening of its presence, particularly in the metropolitan regions of Berlin and Brandenburg. In addition to these core markets, other ProCurand facilities are located in Saxony-Anhalt, Bavaria, and Baden-Württemberg.
Dr. Steffen Hehner, CEO of the Alloheim Group, commented on the reasons for the transaction, highlighting ProCurand's high quality of care, the attractiveness of its facilities, and its economic positioning. He emphasised the fit with the Alloheim Group. The planned integration over the coming years includes targeted investments in the further development of care services and in the building infrastructure. The new colleagues are expected to benefit from investments in digital solutions and proximity to existing Alloheim facilities. The ProCurand brand is to remain an independent unit within the Alloheim Group.
Dr. Axel Theis, owner of the ProCurand Group of companies, views this step as a long-term safeguard for the future of the locations and employees. He referred to the standard of care quality that ProCurand has built up in recent years together with its management and employees. The change of ownership to a larger group is regarded as a positive development step. The transfer of the business is scheduled for 1 October 2026, subject to antitrust reviews.
