Mandate takeover in Berlin-Mitte at the start of 2027
APCOA Germany is expanding its operational network in the federal capital. On 1 January 2027, the parking management company will take over operations of the underground car park at Reinhardtstraße 27A in Berlin-Mitte. The property comprises a total of 158 parking spaces and will in future be available to users 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
With the commencement of the new management mandate, the company is fundamentally modernising the technical equipment of the parking facility. The rollout of barrier-free FreeFlow technology is planned, under which installed camera systems automatically record vehicle registration plates upon entry and exit. The traditional stop at barrier gates as well as paper tickets will be eliminated entirely.
Digital payment processes and expansion of electric mobility
The billing process will be organised on a completely cashless basis. Customers can pay the applicable parking fees using credit cards at machines, via ScanPay, or through the APCOA FLOW mobile application. For registered users of the application, the system enables fully automated payment processing in the background, removing the need to visit a pay machine.
Daniel Riehn, Commercial Director at APCOA Germany, explained that taking over the property strengthens the company's market presence at a strategically significant Berlin location. He noted that barrier-free number plate recognition makes the parking process noticeably more efficient. In addition to digital payment solutions, the installation of additional EV charging points is planned to ensure future-proof coverage for modern electric mobility requirements.
The on-site provision is complemented by an existing car wash facility. The underground car park benefits substantially from its position in the direct vicinity of Berlin's government district. Several federal ministries, office properties, hotels, and cultural institutions are located in the immediate neighbourhood.
Furthermore, key destinations such as Friedrichstraße, Berlin Central Station, the Reichstag building, and the Brandenburg Gate can be reached swiftly. Against this background, the parking facility caters to business travellers and commuters as well as tourists and visitors to the Mitte district.
