Blaine Trump, the former wife of the late Robert Trump, has sold her historic estate in the Hudson Valley for 10.45 million dollars. The deal marks the third-highest sale price ever recorded in the town of Millbrook. Known as the Linley House Estate, the property is situated amidst the renowned equestrian landscape of New York State and comprises an 1830 Greek Revival mansion together with extensive grounds.
The final sale proceeds significantly exceeded the original asking price of 8.8 million dollars. The reason for the higher price was the inclusion of an additional land parcel in the contract that had not been part of the initial offering. This expanded the property to a total of 197.51 acres. The Trumps acquired the estate in 1992 after searching the region specifically for a country seat with extensive grounds.
Neoclassical architecture and generous layout
The main residence offers around 8,244 square feet of living space, with eight bedrooms, eight full bathrooms and two guest cloakrooms. Behind the entrance hall, a central hallway connects all ground-floor living areas. In addition to the formal drawing room with a fireplace, the building features a wood-panelled library with a bar, as well as a separate dining room. The kitchen is equipped with commercial-grade appliances, an island and timber worktops, opening onto a breakfast area and a family room with access to the veranda.
The upper floor houses the primary bedroom suite, which includes its own fireplace, two separate bathrooms and two walk-in dressing rooms. One of the bathrooms is fitted with a bathtub carved from pink natural stone and gold-plated taps. The other floors contain several individually styled guest bedrooms featuring period details such as wood-burning fireplaces and deep window seats.
Expansive grounds with comprehensive recreational facilities
- —Heated gunite swimming pool, tennis court and basketball court on the grounds
- —Private 16-seat cinema, fitness area and a separate party barn
- —Extensive pastures and landscaped trails with panoramic views of the Catskill Mountains
At the front of the house lies a broad brick terrace that transitions into the spacious garden. The transaction was brokered by Michael Passaro of Douglas Elliman and Andrew Gates of Houlihan Lawrence. With the change of ownership, an era of more than three decades in the hands of the Trump family comes to an end for the estate.
