Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH successfully concluded the financial year 2025/2026, reporting a turnover of EUR 260.2 million. This represents growth of 4.4 per cent compared to the preceding financial year. The average number of professionals employed (FTE) increased to 440, corresponding to a rise of 2.2 per cent compared to financial year 2024/2025. Turnover per professional improved by 2.0 per cent to EUR 591,000.
The growth achieved is largely a result of the consistently strong demand for legal advice in specific sectors. These include the energy transition, decarbonisation, the expansion of sustainable infrastructure, compliance issues, and digitalisation. Despite a continuously challenging market environment, clients were acquired for complex transformation, regulatory, and cross-border projects.
A crucial factor for this success was the consistent cooperation across locations and service lines. This structure enabled the comprehensive handling of complex and high-volume mandates. All areas of the firm, including administrative support and business services, contributed to the positive result. The firm's full-service approach supports companies and public clients in implementing complex projects, addressing regulatory issues, and executing national and cross-border initiatives.
As of 1 July 2026, Dr. Stefan Galla and Prof. Dr. Florian Schulz took over the leadership of Luther as Managing Partners. They succeed Elisabeth Lepique, who led the firm for twelve years, and Dr. Markus Sengpiel, who served in this position for sixteen years. Dr. Galla was most recently head of the “Corporate/M&A” service line and previously location manager in Essen. Prof. Dr. Schulz served for many years as location manager in Hamburg and as Co-Head of the Complex Disputes advisory field. The new Managing Partners intend to continue the firm's successful development, expand future-oriented business areas, and further strengthen Luther as a modern, technology-driven, and internationally networked advisory firm.
Dr. Galla and Prof. Dr. Schulz stated that the successful conclusion of the financial year 2025/2026 was a great collective achievement. They expressed their gratitude to all employees for their commitment and expertise. The market environment remains demanding due to challenging economic conditions. At the same time, they see great opportunities in the full-service approach and the strong team, which are to be leveraged in the new financial year to further develop Luther and continue its successful trajectory.
Luther has expanded its international presence by opening its own office in Kyiv. The company now has a total of twelve international offices and 22 locations worldwide. Additionally, Luther Public Services GmbH was founded to broaden the integrated advisory offering for public institutions and administrations, as well as for companies with responsibilities in public projects.
