Colchester-based estate agency and lettings firm Boydens has taken on its first block management instructions in London. This step marks a targeted geographical expansion for the firm's property management division, which is now operating in the UK capital's market beyond its traditional core areas for the first time.
Growth beyond the core regions of Essex and Suffolk
Until now, the company focused primarily on the East of England. From its head office in Colchester, Boydens currently manages a portfolio of more than 3,000 units across the counties of Essex and Suffolk. With the newly won clients in the London area, its management reach is now growing substantially.
The London instructions represent a significant milestone for the block management division, which specialises in the professional management of larger residential developments and apartment buildings. The service covers both financial and building-services management tasks for owners and tenants on behalf of the respective residential management companies.
Centrally managed from Colchester
The new instructions will continue to be managed centrally via the existing infrastructure in Colchester. The company is using its established processes and experience from managing more than 3,000 existing units in Essex and Suffolk to deliver services to the London properties.
By entering the London market, Boydens is no longer positioning itself solely as a regional player in the East of England, but is strengthening its presence in the competitive environment of the British capital. Further steps in the cross-regional management of residential portfolios are set to follow this development.
