The Mozart city of Salzburg will gain another location for the lifestyle brand The Cloud One Hotels with The Cloud One Salzburg. The Motel One Group is taking over the operations and the staff of the former HYPERION Hotel Salzburg. The property will in future be managed under the new brand, while the owners' association, led by IFA, will remain unchanged.
The hotel is located in a prominent position within the listed Palais Faber, directly opposite Mirabell Palace and the Salzburg Congress. The historic old town of Salzburg, with its numerous cultural sites, culinary offerings, and attractions, is within walking distance from this location. This central positioning offers an ideal base for both city tourists and business travellers.
Historic Palais meets individual design concept
Palais Faber is characterised by the combination of preserved historic building fabric with modern hotel use. The transition to The Cloud One Hotels marks a new chapter for the location. The special architecture of the building will now be combined with the individual, design-oriented approach of The Cloud One Hotels brand. The property features a total of 115 rooms and suites.
A restaurant and a hotel bar complement the accommodation offering and create spaces for breakfast, meals, and social gatherings. A terrace located in the inner courtyard also extends the gastronomic area. With this operational takeover, the hotel will be integrated into the brand world of The Cloud One Hotels, which combines high-quality and individual design with personal hospitality and a strong connection to the respective destination. In Salzburg, the combination of the historic building, the central location, and the cultural environment forms a basis for a unique positioning within the portfolio.
Strategic expansion in Austria
With the establishment of the Salzburg location, the Motel One Group is further expanding the presence of its secondary brand in Austria. Following Vienna, the new hotel in Salzburg adds another destination with an excellent location to the portfolio. This new location supports the strategic development of The Cloud One Hotels in the upscale market segment. Gerhard Zeilinger, Managing Director of Motel One Austria, commented that Salzburg combines international appeal with a strong cultural identity, making it a very good fit for The Cloud One Hotels. The operational takeover allows the brand to be established in another central location in Austria and growth to be purposefully continued.
