Acting on behalf of Union Investment, real estate services firm CBRE has secured a long-term lease agreement in the LAGO shopping centre in Konstanz. Asian supermarket operator goAsia has been signed as a new tenant. The retail company will occupy more than 400 square metres of retail space in the established centre on Lake Constance.
Strengthening the retail mix at the Lake Constance shopping centre
Opened in 2004, LAGO forms part of the portfolio of the open-ended retail property fund UniImmo: Global, managed by Union Investment. The property is considered an established fashion and lifestyle destination in the Lake Constance region. Alongside a broad range of fashion and lifestyle brands, the centre already features a varied culinary and local amenities offering, which is now being structurally complemented.
Handover and opening of the new retail space is scheduled for spring 2027. With the addition of goAsia, the landlord is purposefully expanding the on-site food retail segment and broadening the product range with specialised Far Eastern goods. Alongside leasing, CBRE has also been responsible for the complete centre management of the Konstanz property since March 2025.
Nicolas Jöpen-Bohrer, Head of Shopping Centre Leasing at CBRE, emphasised upon signing of the contract that goAsia represents a growing chain store retailer that ideally rounds off the existing food segment. The lease also underscores the ongoing appeal of the Konstanz retail location for operators targeting a broad customer base.
Continuation of goAsia's nationwide expansion
go asia Supermarkt GmbH was founded in 2008 and is headquartered in Berlin. The company focuses on the distribution of Asian groceries and now operates more than 70 locations across Germany, including stores in major cities such as Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg and Cologne. With the Konstanz location, the retail chain is opening up another key catchment area in southern Germany.
