COMER Group International has acquired the renowned Grand Hotel Gravenbruch with effect from 30 October 2026. The parties involved agreed not to disclose the financial volume of the purchase price. The change of ownership took place within the context of a structured sales process managed exclusively by advisory firm Colliers on behalf of the insolvency administrator. The sale encompassed both the historic hotel property and the associated hotel operations.

Structured realisation process in insolvency proceedings

Prior to the conclusion of the transaction, the hotel had moved into a restricted operating mode. During the insolvency proceedings concerning the assets of the Allsco companies, the primary objective was to develop a viable long-term future for the hotel location while securing the best possible realisation outcome for creditors. Colliers targeted national and international investors with a strategic focus on hospitality assets, value-add concepts and repositioning strategies.

Andreas Ewald, Head of Hotel Germany and Co-Head of the EMEA Hospitality Practice Group at Colliers, highlighted the specific demands of the transaction. An ongoing insolvency procedure combined with scaled-back hotel operations had created a complex starting position. A broad and rigorously structured investor process had been crucial to achieving success. Furthermore, the completion showed that international capital remained willing to invest even under challenging conditions, provided the structure and process management were robust. In this context, Ewald also expressed his gratitude to Joachim Kühne and his team at law firm CMS for their trusted cooperation.

Substantial capacity and expansive grounds

The Grand Hotel Gravenbruch offers a versatile accommodation and facilities programme in mature surroundings, characterised by the following features:

  • —A total of 225 guest rooms, including 37 individually designed suites
  • —An events wing with 18 conference and banqueting rooms for meetings, weddings and celebrations
  • —A spacious spa and recreation area for hotel guests and day visitors
  • —Location within extensive private parkland, including its own lake

With this acquisition, COMER Group International secures an established property in the German hospitality sector. The company has been active across the German market since 2006 and draws on long-standing expertise in sophisticated commercial and hotel real estate.
