Vienna-based EPH Group AG is continuing its expansion course in the Austrian tourism sector. Via its wholly owned subsidiary EPH BGL GmbH, the company has signed purchase agreements for an approximately 2.6-hectare property in Central Burgenland. An exclusive five-star resort featuring around 300 beds is planned for the site.
The property acquisition is subject to conditions precedent. A key prerequisite for the legal completion of the purchase is the granting of legally binding planning permission for the proposed scheme. Further project phases are to be implemented step by step, taking local conditions into account.
Resort concept and facilities
The project is aimed at discerning guests in the international luxury and leisure segment. Plans envisage a hotel complex that references the surrounding wine region architecturally. Key features include private lodges set amidst the vineyards, each equipped with its own pool and separate wellness area. The complex will be complemented by a spacious main wellness area, a rooftop restaurant with panoramic views, a traditional Heuriger wine tavern among the vines, and an in-house wine and culinary experience centre.

The property benefits from an elevated hillside location offering sweeping views across the Burgenland landscape extending into Hungary. A renowned thermal spa and a golf course are located in the immediate vicinity, providing the infrastructural foundation for year-round operations.
International operator and regional value creation
For the future management of the resort, EPH Group plans to partner with an internationally established hotel operator, in line with its previous projects. The tourism concept relies on a season-independent offering covering gastronomy, wine, wellness and sports.
Yasmin Wilfling, Member of the Management Board of EPH Group AG, explained that the resort aims to combine the scenic and wine-cultural qualities of Burgenland with international hotel standards. Alongside the new jobs created on the resort grounds, regional wineries, restaurateurs, trade businesses and service providers are to be firmly integrated into the value chain of ongoing operations.
