The Radisson Hotel Group has taken over the management of the Park Inn by Radisson Berlin Alexanderplatz, effective 1 August 2026. This measure is intended to strengthen the hotel group's presence in the German capital and to more closely integrate the property into the company's international sales, technology, and support structures. Covivio remains the owner of the property, which is one of the largest hotels in Germany.
This management change is the result of a selection process initiated by Covivio for a future operator. The Radisson Hotel Group emerged successfully from this process. Prior to this takeover, the hotel was operated under the Park Inn by Radisson brand as part of a franchise agreement.
Max Gross, Chief Development Officer Central & Eastern Europe at the Radisson Hotel Group, stated that the management takeover lays the groundwork for more comprehensively integrating the Park Inn by Radisson Berlin Alexanderplatz into the international network. He emphasised that the hotel will benefit even more intensively from the Radisson Hotel Group's technology platform and digital expertise in the future. Access to global sales structures and operational systems will be intensified through direct cooperation with Covivio as the hotel owner. At the same time, continuity and the long-standing experience of the local team will be relied upon.
Technological Modernisation and Operational Integration
A key focus following the management takeover is the technological modernisation of the property. The hotel will be migrated to a modern cloud-based property management platform and gradually connected to the Radisson Hotel Group's central digital systems. In parallel, further operational applications will be modernised and transferred into an integrated system landscape. The aim of these measures is to simplify operational workflows, make processes more efficient, and strengthen cooperation with the hotel group's central platforms.
These investments are part of the Radisson Hotel Group's overarching digital strategy, which continuously invests worldwide in AI-powered applications, digital sales solutions, and modern operational platforms. Jürgen Gangl will retain his position as General Manager of the hotel, ensuring continuity in operational leadership.
Hotel Structure and Capacity
With 1,029 rooms, the Park Inn by Radisson Berlin Alexanderplatz is one of the largest hotels in the Radisson Hotel Group's portfolio by room count, and the second-largest hotel in Germany. In addition to accommodation, the hotel offers extensive catering facilities with restaurants and bars. Furthermore, modern meeting and event spaces are available, complemented by a publicly accessible rooftop terrace, which adds to the attractiveness of the location.
