Luxury fashion boutique Atelier New York is expanding its retail presence in New York City's Greenwich Village. The multi-brand store will be the first tenant in the commercial space of the newly constructed luxury condominium building 181 MacDougal Street by the Straus Group.
The asking rent for the 2,130 square foot retail space was $250 per square foot, as announced by landlord broker Newmark. Ariel Schuster, Jackie Totolo, and Jordyn Comras of Newmark negotiated the lease on behalf of the landlord. Atelier did not use a tenant-side broker.
Strategic Expansion in Manhattan
Atelier's new storefront is located on the corner of MacDougal and Eighth Street, just one block north of Washington Square Park. The company was founded in 2002 on Crosby Street and is known for its new and exclusive collections from luxury designers.
Atelier currently operates two locations near the new 181 MacDougal Street address: a women's fashion store opposite at 29 West Eighth Street and a men's fashion store on the same street, at 20 West Eighth Street. The boutique owners declined to comment on their plans for these existing locations, including whether they will relocate from either of the current stores. The opening of the new store at 181 MacDougal Street is expected in four to six months.
Further Locations and Future Plans
In addition to its new and existing Manhattan addresses, Atelier has other outlets in New York City, including at Tangram Mall in Flushing, Queens, and another nearby Flushing store at 138-37 39th Avenue. The company also maintains a location in Seattle.
This expansion underscores Atelier's commitment to strengthening its presence in key markets and continuing to offer high-quality fashion collections to luxury customers. The choice of 181 MacDougal Street as the first tenant in a newly developed property confirms the attractiveness of the location and concept for discerning retailers.
