The FIEGE Group, a logistics service provider, is expanding its infrastructure at the Münster-Hessenweg site. As part of this development, a new property is being built on an area directly adjacent to the existing healthcare logistics centre. The planning and realisation are being carried out in close consultation with a potential customer from the pharmaceutical industry to meet their specific requirements.

Key factors for choosing this location include the existing convenient transport links, its proximity to pharmaceutical production facilities, and the availability of skilled labour in the Münster region. FIEGE Real Estate is responsible for the property's development. Construction is scheduled to begin in August 2026.

Technical Equipment and Sustainability Aspects

The planned building will encompass a logistics area of approximately 9,800 square metres. Additionally, there will be more than 1,000 square metres of mezzanine space and an office area of 430 square metres. To ensure energy-efficient operation, LED lighting systems and an air-to-air heat pump will be installed. The technical infrastructure is also designed for future needs-based expansion.

  • Charging infrastructure with a capacity of 200 kilowatts for electric lorries.
  • Rooftop photovoltaic system with an output of approximately 1,000 kilowatt-peak.
  • The PV system is designed to generate a significant portion of the required electricity directly on-site.

FIEGE is aiming for a Gold certification from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) for the new building. Completion of the property is scheduled for June 2027.

Jens Fiege, Co-CEO of the FIEGE Group, stated that the family business, which has been in existence for over 150 years, has been located at the Münster-Hessenweg site for many years, where logistics for numerous companies from the healthcare sector are handled. He expressed his delight that another modern property could be built there and capacities expanded. The positive development of the existing branch demonstrates the potential of the Münster location. The additional logistics centre will create the conditions to support healthcare customers more flexibly and enable further growth.
