Hotel group Gorgeous Smiling Hotels (GSH) is initiating a strategic realignment following a fundamental change in its shareholder base. The company has fully bought back the shares previously held by investor Auctus Capital. As part of this financial reorganisation, all existing bank loans were also fully repaid, providing the group with a debt-free and independent starting position for future plans.
The group will in future be led jointly by Heiko Grote and Andreas Erben with clearly divided responsibilities. Grote takes charge of day-to-day operations as well as the ongoing development of existing hotel operations. Erben oversees finance, development, and the hotel group's strategic expansion. Grote emphasised that employees are the foundation of success. The objective, he noted, is to strengthen teams, target the optimisation of operational processes, and cultivate a corporate culture defined by responsibility.
Digitalisation and operational metrics on an upward trend
A key element of the operational strategy is the increased integration of digital technologies and artificial intelligence. In guest communications, the company already relies on AI-based telephone assistance that handles enquiries in 13 languages. Further systems are intended to streamline reservation, payment, and check-in processes, relieving staff of administrative routines and improving service workflows for guests.
At the operational level, the company is already recording tangible gains compared with the prior-year period. Average occupancy rose by more than 10 per cent, while revenue per available room (RevPAR) increased by over 4.5 per cent. Erben explained in this regard that the economic and strategic foundations had been laid to systematically expand the group. Technology, he added, enables more efficient workflows without compromising personal hospitality.
