The realisation of the ONE TechCampus in Garbsen is a done deal following the Garbsen City Council's approval of the development plan. This technology centre, being developed on the mechanical engineering campus in the Hannover region, boasts a planned gross floor area of 65,000 square metres, distributed across six building units. Construction is slated to begin by the end of 2026.
A key component and designated anchor tenant is the newly founded techfactory of the Hannover region. This will occupy an area of approximately 4,600 square metres. The opening of the techfactory is anticipated for the third quarter of 2028.
Usage Concept and Networking
The concept of the ONE TechCampus aims to provide young start-ups and new research institutions with space for development and networking. This includes a variety of usage options designed to strengthen the interface between science and business.

Investments and Sustainability Aspects
The campus is being developed by ONE TechCampus Garbsen GmbH & Co. KG in cooperation with the asto Group from Munich as investor. The asto Group specialises in the development, financing and construction of high-quality properties in the science and industry sector. Ekkehart Fabian, co-founder and shareholder of the Asto Group, stated that the merging of technological-scientific research activities and industrial site development enables the building of inter-organisational knowledge and the promotion of innovation and progress.
Dr Bernd Schulte-Middelich, also a founder of the Asto Group, highlighted the infrastructural advantages and proximity to Leibniz University as crucial factors for choosing the Garbsen location. He emphasised that the ONE TechCampus offers investors attractive growth potential in a dynamic region with a focus on mechanical engineering and high technology. The construction of the ONE TechCampus will also place emphasis on renewable energies, smart mobility concepts and sustainable building automation, to create a sustainable, productive and creative place for current and future generations.
