Hyatt has announced the appointment of Guido Fredrich as Vice President Development Luxury and Lifestyle for the EAME (Europe, Africa and the Middle East) region. In this role, Mr Fredrich will be responsible for expanding Hyatt's luxury and lifestyle portfolio across the region. This appointment comes at a time of strategic expansion for the company, which is consistently extending its presence in significant metropolitan areas and iconic holiday destinations.

Mr Fredrich thus returns to Hyatt, where he previously held a senior development position and was responsible for over 15 brand entries into the market. His professional expertise encompasses over 15 years of international experience in hotel development and real estate. Prior to his current appointment at Hyatt, he served as Chief Development Officer at Corinthia Hotels. There, he led the global expansion of the Corinthia brand, secured strategic market entries, and established the luxury brand in key markets. Previously, he was Head of Asset Strategy at Signa.

Strategic Expansion and Market Differentiation

Mr Fredrich's appointment underscores Hyatt's commitment to targeted growth in the EAME region. Felicity Black-Roberts, SVP Development EAME at Hyatt, stated that Mr Fredrich's track record in identifying strategic market opportunities and differentiating brands would be of great value to the team. She further emphasised that demand for high-quality hotels remains robust despite macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainties. Travellers favour hotels that offer distinctive experiences, a requirement that Hyatt can meet through a portfolio of clearly differentiated brands, each tailored to specific travel occasions.

Hyatt's objective, according to Ms Black-Roberts, is to connect the right brands in the right locations with the right owners. Recent additions to the portfolio include the Andaz Lisbon and Miraval The Red Sea. Further openings are planned for the period up to the end of 2026, including Thompson Seville, Thompson Rome, and The Standard Lisbon. Guido Fredrich added that he looks forward to returning to Hyatt during a dynamic phase for the company. He is familiar with the strength of the portfolio and the regional opportunities and intends to expand the presence in the luxury and lifestyle segment together with owners and partners.

  • Hyatt's luxury and lifestyle portfolios in the EAME region comprise 14 brands.
  • The portfolio consists of over 70 hotels.
  • In total, over 11,000 rooms are available.
