International Workplace Group (IWG), a global platform for flexible working environments that includes brands such as Spaces and Regus, recorded extensive expansion of its worldwide network in the first half of 2026. The company concluded agreements for 728 new locations, thereby increasing its total presence to over 6,000 locations in more than 120 countries. In addition to this growth in its location network, record revenues and record EBITDA were also achieved during this period.

The expansion is primarily driven by an asset-light growth strategy, with 95 per cent of new locations being realised through partnership agreements. This model enables property owners and investors to achieve optimised returns from their properties, while IWG can efficiently expand its global network. The increase in concluded agreements in the first half of 2026 was pronounced across several key markets.

Strategic Expansion in Key Regions

  • USA: 187 new locations
  • United Kingdom: 62 new locations
  • India: 43 new locations
  • China: 42 new locations

IWG's growth continued beyond the first half of the year. In July, the global platform was further augmented by 186 additional locations through the addition of Wojo. This integration, which concerns the former joint venture between Accor and Bouygues Immobilier, establishes a long-term relationship with Accor. This will open up the possibility of implementing IWG solutions in more hotels in the future.

International Workplace Group collaborates with landlords and developers to offer flexible working solutions in close proximity to people's homes and workplaces. This simultaneously creates new revenue potential for the respective partners. A large proportion of the newly established IWG locations are in suburbs, smaller commuter towns and small towns. The company aims to integrate its network deeply into the communities where there is a demand for flexible working models.

Christian Schmitz, CEO of International Workplace Group, noted the successful course of the first half of the year and highlighted the record number of signed locations, which has expanded the network to over 6,000 units worldwide. He emphasised that every new location strengthens the network, expands choice for customers, and generates new growth opportunities. The growth extends from global metropolises to small towns and communities where hybrid working models unlock new possibilities. The asset-light strategy enables rapid growth while supporting partners in deriving greater value from their properties. The market potential is considered significant, with an estimated 1.2 billion employees worldwide and an addressable total market volume of over US$2 trillion.
