The Technical University of Munich and technology company NEURA have brought a new facility into operation at Munich Airport's LabCampus innovation hub. Known as RoboGym, the facility established at this hub is classified as the most modern centre of its kind across Europe. The project combines university research and private-sector expertise at a central Bavarian interface.
Cooperation between science and practice
At the core of the collaboration between the Technical University of Munich and NEURA is the joint development and practical application of robotics systems. RoboGym serves as a specialised testing and development environment where forward-looking technologies can be conceptualised and tested directly under realistic conditions. The partnership makes it possible to transfer academic findings into functional applications in a structured manner.
Its status as the most modern RoboGym in Europe underlines the ambition of the participating partners to set significant benchmarks in the advanced robotics segment. Through the close interlocking of fundamental scientific research and technological implementation by NEURA, the location is tailored specifically to demanding development cycles.
Establishment at Munich Airport's LabCampus
LabCampus at Munich Airport provides the spatial foundation for the initiative. The site operates as an innovation hub, offering the infrastructural framework required to adequately accommodate research-intensive facilities such as RoboGym. For the airport site, this arrival further sharpens its profile as an address for technology-oriented partnerships.
With the commissioning of the new site by the Technical University of Munich and NEURA, joint development work has now commenced on an operational level. RoboGym at LabCampus combines cutting-edge testing capacities with a strategic location, thereby laying the foundation for future progress in the field of applied robotics.
