With the official opening of the Leonardo Nuremberg City Center, Leonardo Hotels Central Europe has commenced operations of its third property in Nuremberg. The establishment, previously operated as an IntercityHotel, was acquired in December 2025. The subsequent modernisation was carried out during ongoing hotel operations to align the property with Leonardo Hotels' brand standards.

This completion of the rebranding marks the full integration of the first of a total of four acquired former IntercityHotels into the Leonardo Hotels portfolio. The other properties in Freiburg, Magdeburg, and Erfurt are scheduled for integration in the third and fourth quarters of 2026. This strategic acquisition and successive integration underscore the company's growth strategy in the German market.

Location and Facilities of the Nuremberg Site

The Leonardo Nuremberg City Center benefits from a central location, characterised by its immediate proximity to Nuremberg Central Station and walking distance to the historic Old Town. The modernisation measures encompassed the hotel's 158 rooms. These now present a calm and contemporary design, incorporating warm earth and natural tones, wooden elements, and subtle colour accents. Soundproof windows contribute to a pleasant and quiet atmosphere within the premises.

The public areas of the hotel have also undergone comprehensive design changes. Various seating arrangements, plant installations, and colourful furnishings define the appearance and contribute to a modern and lively character. In addition to accommodation, the hotel offers a breakfast restaurant and its own hotel bar. For business requirements, four air-conditioned conference rooms are available, covering a total area of approximately 133 square metres and offering capacities for up to 90 people.

Strategic Importance for Leonardo Hotels Central Europe

Mr Yoram Biton, Managing Director of Leonardo Hotels Central Europe, commented on the development. He emphasised that with the Leonardo Nuremberg City Center, the first of the four acquired hotels has been successfully integrated into the portfolio. Nuremberg is a significant destination for the company, and with now three Leonardo Hotels, they can provide guests with a diverse offering. The modernisation of all four acquired hotels represents a further step in the continuous development of the hotel portfolio in Germany.
