The Livensa Group, a company backed by CPP Investments, has merged its former brands Nido Living and Livensa Living under a new, shared identity. This brand launch finalises a process of operational and structural integration that lasted over a year. The name Nido will no longer be used in the future. The rebranding establishes a clear brand architecture: student accommodation offerings will now be managed under the Livensa Living brand, while flexible living concepts for shorter stays and variable rental conditions will operate under Livensa Studios.
This integration strengthens the Livensa Group's position to respond to the ongoing demand for student accommodation in Europe. The group currently has 12,415 beds in Spain, Portugal, and Italy. Based on this foundation, further growth in these core markets is planned. Additionally, the Livensa Group intends to expand its presence in Germany and enter other European markets. As a vertically integrated platform, the company acts as an investor, developer, and operator, benefiting from an expanded capital base, more comprehensive operational competencies, and a broader development pipeline than the individual companies had previously.
Strategic Importance and Market Gap
The rebranding comes at a time when student accommodation is increasingly recognised as essential social infrastructure. In the Livensa Group's core markets, demand significantly outstrips the available supply. By expanding modern, professionally managed student accommodation, the platform intends to close this supply gap and simultaneously relieve the general rental housing markets in the respective cities. The Livensa Group works closely with municipalities and universities. High-quality student accommodation contributes to the attractiveness of cities for international talent, strengthens university locations, and promotes student numbers and the economic development of the regions.
Alongside the introduction of the new brand identity, the Livensa Group is investing in modern digital infrastructure. The aim is to continuously optimise the living experience for students, from booking and moving in to daily life in the accommodation facilities. Irene Gómez Luque, who joined the management team as Chief Digital and Innovation Officer on 14 February 2026, will be responsible for the group's digital strategy as part of its ongoing expansion.
Carlo Matta, CEO of the Livensa Group, stated that the merger under the Livensa Group name represents the final step in building a coherent platform. He emphasised that as a single company, they can grow faster and expand their presence more strategically. Matta underlined the importance of student accommodation as social infrastructure and the relief it brings to local rental housing markets with every additional bed. The Livensa Group will continue its European expansion, aiming to reach a total of 25,000 beds by 2031.
Daniel Havers, Head of Germany at Livensa Group, added that particularly in Germany, high demand for student accommodation meets a limited supply. Here, Livensa can leverage its strength as an integrated European platform to create urgently needed, professionally managed accommodation options. The rebranding establishes a clear, unified presence and reinforces the commitment to long-term growth in the German market.
