In Wehr, in southern Baden-Württemberg, a logistics property was arranged for Markus Barth Logistik GmbH & Co. KG. The transaction, organised by Logivest, concerns a property at Kreuzmattstraße 2, owned by MBB Immobilien GmbH. Markus Barth Logistik will use the space for projects on behalf of GE Energy, which is expanding the grid capacities of DB Energie GmbH.
The lease is specifically for the storage and transport of components required, for example, for converter stations and digital substations. A current project is the modernisation of the Kühmoos substation in Rickenbach, near Waldshut, by GE Energy. The selection of the location in Wehr, in direct proximity to this construction site, was of strategic importance for Markus Barth Logistik.
The arranged logistics area comprises over 5,000 square metres of storage space and an additional 1,000 square metres of outdoor area. The hall's design, with a small number of support columns, allows for efficient manoeuvring and accessibility, which supports Markus Barth Logistik's operational processes. The location in Wehr, directly on the Swiss border and in the tri-border region with France, is considered advantageous for logistics and industrial companies.
Ingo Volk, Head of Industrial & Logistics (Letting) at Logivest Stuttgart GmbH, commented on the successful collaboration. He emphasised the long-standing relationship with MBB Immobilien GmbH, which enabled constructive and trusting cooperation. The handover of the space and the operational occupancy by Markus Barth Logistik are scheduled for September.
This lease highlights the ongoing demand for tailored logistics space, especially in regions that offer a strategically advantageous position for infrastructure projects. The specific requirements for storing sensitive components for energy infrastructure could be met by the characteristics of the hall in Wehr.
