GESOBAU has announced the commencement of marketing for commercial spaces within the historic estate, as part of an event held in the Stadtgut Hellersdorf quarter. Within the quarter, which encompasses approximately 1,500 flats, the creation of a diverse space for cultural, gastronomic, social, and service-related uses is planned. The first buildings are expected to be ready for occupancy by the end of 2027.

Construction work for the revitalisation of the area is already underway. GESOBAU AG plans to extensively renovate the listed buildings of the historic “Stadtgut Hellersdorf” and sensitively complement them with new constructions. On a total area of around 11,700 square metres, the state-owned housing association will create spaces for various functions. The launch of marketing for these spaces took place during an annual tenant event in the estate’s town square.

Flexible space design and historical substance

Prospective tenants for commercial spaces will benefit from flexible space design, allowing for individual fit-out options at the current planning stage. Nine historical buildings of the former manor, including the manor house, former stables, as well as the engine house and the old forge, will be renovated in accordance with preservation requirements. In addition, three new buildings are planned, which will integrate into the existing historical structure.

The revitalisation of the historical estate follows the already completed new residential construction in the Stadtgut Hellersdorf quarter, which comprises approximately 1,500 rental flats. Stadtgut is designed as a central component of the residential quarter. In the future, it will offer space for gastronomic establishments, manufactories, artisan workshops, offices, retail, as well as leisure and sports facilities. This will create an attraction for the residents of the quarter and the entire neighbourhood.

Heike Wessoly, District Councillor for Urban Development in Marzahn-Hellersdorf, noted that Hellersdorf is experiencing growth and the demand for local services is increasing with the influx of new residents. She highlighted that the renovation of the listed Stadtgut will enhance the area and serve as a vibrant hub for the entire neighbourhood. Lars Holborn, a member of the Management Board of GESOBAU AG, stated that Stadtgut Hellersdorf unites history and future and aligns with GESOBAU's ambition to comprehensively develop quarters by combining affordable housing with lively public spaces and needs-based provision. The historic Stadtgut is also part of the Helle Mitte funding area and is supported by the urban development funding programme “Lebendige Zentren” (Vibrant Centres).
