The MDI-MITTELDEUTSCHE IMMOBILIEN UNTERNEHMENSGRUPPE, represented by one of its companies, has completed the acquisition of the hotel property in Deidesheim, which previously operated as the MAXX by Steigenberger Hotel. This transaction marks a strategic step for the future development and repositioning of the established hotel location in the Pfalz region. The brokering of the acquisition process was supported by Christie & Co., with the expertise of Sophie Paus and Lukas Hochedlinger acknowledged in this context.
The property comprises 124 hotel rooms and also offers catering, conference and wellness areas. Its location in Deidesheim, one of Germany's most prominent wine and tourism regions, lends it particular appeal. The direct connection to the Deutsche Weinstraße, its proximity to well-known wineries, cultural institutions and tourist attractions, and the convenient accessibility of the Rhein-Neckar metropolitan region create favourable conditions for sustainable further development.
Strategic Focus and Planned Modernisation
With this acquisition, the MDI-MITTELDEUTSCHE IMMOBILIEN UNTERNEHMENSGRUPPE consistently continues and expands its commitment to the hospitality sector. The primary objective is to subject the hotel to comprehensive modernisation. This includes adapting it to current standards regarding facilities and sustainability, in order to secure the location in the long term and sustainably consolidate its regional importance. The reopening is planned for next year.
Helmut Mau, the founder of the MDI-MITTELDEUTSCHE IMMOBILIEN UNTERNEHMENSGRUPPE, commented on the acquisition. He emphasised that Deidesheim represents a hotel location with significant regional appeal and promising development prospects. The group aims to proactively shape the future of this establishment together with its partners.
The acquisition of the hotel underscores the strategic growth trajectory of the MDI-MITTELDEUTSCHE IMMOBILIEN UNTERNEHMENSGRUPPE in the hospitality sector. It confirms its ambition to develop and position properties with development potential in the market on a long-term, value-creating basis and with consideration for sustainable aspects.
