MIB AG has acquired the plot at Apels Garten 4 in Leipzig's Inner Westvorstadt. This area, located not far from Dorotheenplatz in an established inner-city environment, represents a rarity in the current Leipzig real estate market due to its undeveloped nature. The purchase offers MIB AG the opportunity to realise a sustainable project at a historic address in the city.

The acquisition process proved complex but has now been successfully concluded. The acquired plot covers an area of approximately 1,500 m². It has a legally binding building permit, which creates a solid basis for further development and opens up immediate options for MIB AG in the residential, temporary living, and hotel sectors.

Historical Context and Location Quality

The name of the plot, Apels Garten, refers to one of Leipzig's most significant Baroque gardens, which was laid out at the beginning of the 18th century by Andreas Dietrich Apel. This garden gained recognition from personalities such as Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and was appreciated by Augustus the Strong. The radial arrangement of the surrounding streets, such as Kolonnadenstraße, Elsterstraße, and Reichsstraße, still bears witness to this historical design today.

MIB AG plans to develop this historically significant site with its characteristic diligence. The company will present the final usage concept to the public at a later date. Andreas Rühle, CEO of MIB AG, emphasised the uniqueness of the situation: “Undeveloped plots in this inner-city location are rare. Apels Garten offers us an excellent opportunity to help shape a special city district.” This acquisition underscores MIB AG's strategic focus on high-quality and long-term value-retaining project developments in the centre of attractive cities.
