At the beginning of August, the Icona's Costa Ragusa Resort, an exclusive five-star luxury hotel, commenced operations on Sicily’s south-east coast, specifically on the Costa Ragusa. It represents the second property of Mangia’s Hotels & Resorts in this region and simultaneously marks the introduction of the Icona's Collection, the company's new luxury brand. This collection is intended to bring together the hotel group's most exceptional destinations, characterised by the highest quality standards, a distinctive identity, and strong local roots.
The Costa Ragusa Resort embodies this corporate philosophy by interpreting contemporary luxury as a synthesis of nature, design, and authentic experiences. The complex comprises a total of 105 stylishly designed rooms and suites, which create a timeless ambience of high comfort through generous spatial concepts, natural lighting, and clear design language. The design of the architecture and interiors is characterised by a sophisticated design language that prioritises harmony and balanced proportions. Inspired by the history of the ancient settlement of Kamarina, as well as Sicily's palette of materials and colours, the design concept translates the idea of “Quiet Luxury” into a contemporary aesthetic. Natural materials, warm earth tones, artisanal details, and artworks specially commissioned for the resort create an elegant and understated atmosphere that shows a strong regional connection.
The resort's gastronomic offerings reflect the diversity of Mediterranean cuisine. Three restaurants, a lobby bar, and the Oceanis Beach Club offer various culinary concepts. IBLÆ focuses on an upscale interpretation of Sicilian cuisine, while AMA combines Sicilian and Japanese influences with regional seafood.
