Bing Crosby's historic home for sale, minus festive charm

No White Christmas at this luxurious Palm Desert estate, once owned by Bing Crosby, now on sale for $13.5M.

B
ing Crosby's former Palm Desert homestead is hitting the market with a hefty price tag of $13.5 million. The luxury estate, which has been lovingly restored by its current owners, Julia and Randall Burt, boasts a 6,100-square-foot hacienda-style manse with two bedrooms in the main house and three one-bedroom casitas. The property also features a tennis court, bocce court, and pool.

The Burts purchased the 2.5-acre spread for $3 million 12 years ago and have since invested significantly in its rehabilitation and renovation. According to Julia Burt, the project took around eight years to complete and cost more than the original purchase price.

While Crosby's ownership of the property is certainly a draw, it's not the only piece of history associated with the estate. The location has been cited as the site of a tryst between President John Kennedy and actress Marilyn Monroe. However, Julia Burt humorously notes that there's no ghostly presence from the starlet.

The Burts are selling the property as part of their downsizing efforts, and a sale at the asking price would be one of the priciest in recent Palm Springs market history. The estate also has revenue potential, having been rented out for commercial shoots in the past. With its prime location and luxurious amenities, this property is sure to attract attention from buyers looking for a unique blend of luxury and history.
