ldar, a prominent Emirati developer, has kicked off sales for its upcoming Mandarin Oriental Residences in Abu Dhabi's Saadiyat Cultural District. The 226-unit complex is being designed by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels and will feature interiors by New York City-based designer Lillian Wu. Residents can look forward to amenities such as a spa, fitness center, beauty bar, residents' lounge, private dining room, and a Mandarin Oriental Cake Shop.
The project is set for completion in 2028 under the leadership of CEO Talal Al Dhiyebi, who oversees one of the largest real estate developers in the UAE. Aldar secured a $1.4 billion investment from Apollo Global Management in 2022, further solidifying its position in the market.
The Mandarin Oriental Residences mark another addition to the growing global trend of luxury branded residences. This phenomenon has taken off in South Florida, where projects are being developed with branding from high-end fashion houses, culinary brands, sports cars, and legacy hospitality firms. In cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi, similar projects have also gained traction, including a $1 billion Mercedes-Benz-branded tower launched earlier this year.
