ob Vila and his wife Diana Barrett have sold their Palm Beach home at 345 Pendleton Lane for $13.4 million, just under a year after purchasing it for $12.5 million. The property, built in 1937 by prominent architect John Volk, spans 4,300 square feet with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and one half-bathroom on a quarter-acre lot. Vila, the original host of "This Old House," and his wife, a former Harvard Business School professor, had listed the home for $15.9 million in May.
The sale comes as Palm Beach's busy season is about to kick off, with market activity reportedly surging since Donald Trump's presidential win earlier this month. Notably, Louise Riggio sold her oceanfront compound for $81 million and Todd Glaser sold a waterfront renovated home to billionaire Herbert Wertheim for $38 million.
Vila and Barrett still have their Everglades Island home listed for sale at 690 Island Drive, with an asking price of $39.9 million after being relisted in September.
