n Peabody, MA, Christianbook and its partners celebrated the completion of a new 82,790 SF warehouse adjacent to their corporate headquarters. This expansion enables efficient management of over 100,000 products, eliminating off-site storage and increasing logistics flexibility with an additional 8 receiving docks.
The steel-framed structure was designed to complement the existing building's masonry veneer banding. Christianbook has been a leading literature distributor for academic and faith-based publications since its founding in 1978 by two brothers. Today, it offers a wide range of products including clothing, accessories, home décor, music, stationery, and homeschool materials.
David Fowler, VP Strategy & Research, notes that Christianbook provides meaningful employment for hundreds of valued employees and is committed to community service through initiatives like the annual Pastor Appreciation Day and Top Places to Work awards. The company's mission is reflected in its philanthropic efforts, including a partnership with the USO Reading Program.
To celebrate the warehouse completion, 370 people attended an event featuring a grant from Christianbook and its partners to sponsor 200 military personnel through the USO Reading Program. This program provides deployed service members with the opportunity to record themselves reading children's books for their families, promoting emotional support and cognitive development during deployment.
The USO Reading Program has been used over 30,000 times in 2023, demonstrating its impact on military families' well-being. Lauren Nowicki, Dacon's Chief Communications Officer, highlights the program's significance in raising morale through communication, comfort, and connection, especially for those serving in war zones.
