10th Annual 'Only Brooklyn' Real Estate Conference: Industry Leaders Unite

owntown Brooklyn hosted the 10th annual "Only Brooklyn" real estate conference on September 19, drawing over 300 attendees from various sectors of the industry. The event was organized by TerraCRG, a commercial real estate agency based in Brooklyn.

    The conference featured curated panel discussions on current projects, trends, and issues affecting the borough's real estate market. Keynote speakers included Dan Marks, CEO of TerraCRG; Dan Garodnick, Director of NYC Department of Planning; and Andrew Kimball, President and CEO of New York City Economic Development Corporation.

    Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso emphasized the need for affordable housing in the face of a growing housing crisis. "We are looking down the barrel of a major housing crisis," he said. "Brooklynites are being forced out of their neighborhoods and struggling to find new housing that is safe, affordable, and dignified."

    Garodnick also addressed the issue, stating, "We have simply not built enough housing, and New Yorkers are feeling this every day." He proposed the City of Yes initiative to allow for more housing opportunities in every neighborhood.

    The conference covered various topics, including residential developments, the commercial landscape, and affordable housing. Panels featured industry experts discussing the current state of Brooklyn's real estate market and potential solutions to address its challenges.

    Marks expressed optimism about the future of Brooklyn's real estate market, citing the passage of 485-x as a potential catalyst for growth. "Brooklyn is simply the coolest place in the world," he said. "It has arts, culture, architecture, and a vast number of diverse neighborhoods."

    Industry experts highlighted the importance of affordable housing, creative economy hubs like Industry City, and the need to address the divide between affluent and struggling neighborhoods. The conference provided a platform for discussion and exploration of solutions to Brooklyn's real estate challenges.
