J
im Rosenblatt, former dean of Mississippi College School of Law, remembers Reed Nunnelee '06, '12's graduation day vividly. As a guest speaker at the 2012 Commencement, Rep. Alan Nunnelee, Reed's father and U.S. representative for Mississippi's 1st congressional district, delivered an emotional speech that left a lasting impression on Rosenblatt.
Tragically, Rep. Nunnelee passed away just three years later, but his son is carrying on his legacy with distinction as a valued member of Butler Snow law firm's Finance, Real Estate and Restructuring Group in Ridgeland. Reed has been selected by the National Alumni Association at Mississippi College as MC's 2024 Young Alumnus of the Year for his service to the community.
"I'm humbled to have been selected and honored that MC thinks I'm representing the college well," Nunnelee said, reflecting on the recognition. A graduate of MC Law who earned his degree summa cum laude, Reed has distinguished himself in practice with his knowledge of the law, business sense, and work ethic.
As a Mid-South Rising Star for Business/Corporate, Nunnelee has been featured numerous times in "Best Lawyers in America." Michael Wright, dean of enrollment services at MC, praised Nunnelee as a "phenomenal choice" to wear the mantle of MC's Young Alumnus of the Year. The awards brunch will take place on October 26, where Reed and other outstanding MC alumni will be recognized for their achievements.
