elanie Everett & Company, a seven-person residential brokerage founded in 2019, has joined Compass as the Everett Group. The team primarily operates in Chicago and its western suburbs, ranking among the top 15 brokerages in the city by transactions year-to-date. As of mid-2024, their transaction volume reached $51 million.
Founder Melanie Everett began her career at Coldwell Banker in 2014 before launching her firm five years later. The group has closed nearly 1,000 deals totaling over $350 million in sales. Everett cited burnout and a desire to refocus as reasons for joining Compass, allowing her to prioritize client representation and creative marketing.
Compass continues to expand its presence in Chicago, having acquired @properties Christie's International Real Estate in December. The brokerage has also recruited high-producing teams across the North Side and nearby suburbs, chipping away at market share over the past few years. With a strong brand appeal among agents seeking to offload back-office overhead without sacrificing identity, Compass is sharpening its strategy for a post-commission-settlement landscape.
