had Behnken and Chris Terry, two well-known figures in Rochester's real estate and banking scene, have joined forces to launch Core Real Estate Group, focusing on commercial real estate, leasing, and development. The pair has a long history of working with local construction firms, banks, and most recently, Hamilton Real Estate Group.
According to Terry, the decision to open their own shop was driven by a desire for flexibility and personalization. "It allows us to look at opportunities differently and keep things simple in a boutique style," he said. "We've known each other for years, and the timing felt right to branch out on our own."
Core's team includes Office Manager Sammie Davis and Associate Tyler Cain. The company plans to officially open its office in the Pinnacle West complex at 2746 Superior Drive NW in January. Behnken explained that the name Core represents their focus on being central to their clients' needs.
"We're a small but comprehensive firm offering commercial real estate brokerage sales, leasing, and development services," said Terry. "We'll have access to off-market properties and lease listings, as well as opportunities for multifamily and industrial warehousing developments."
As Core ramps up, the pair acknowledges that the Rochester market is experiencing growth, thanks in part to Mayo Clinic's $5 billion construction project. However, they emphasize that their timing was driven by their own readiness to make a change.
Rochester will be Core's base of operations, but the company plans to cast its net throughout the region, pursuing opportunities in Iowa and other states bordering Minnesota.
