udge Sally Montgomery ordered Home Marketing Services owner Bob Lovell to pay $5.7 million in damages and fees after finding he repeatedly coerced a former employee into sexual acts and retaliated when she refused. The ruling, issued Monday, marks the first time a Texas business owner was held personally liable under the 2021 law, attorney Rogge Dunn said. “This judgment signals that executives who sexually harass and then punish whistle‑blowers will face serious consequences,” Dunn added. Lovell, president of Home Marketing Services, is known for his Dallas‑area commercials urging viewers to “stop making your landlord richer” and featuring the phrase “bless your heart.”
