ATERTOWN, S.D. - The Department of Government Efficiency has announced its first real estate cut in South Dakota will be in Codington County. A lease at the Farm Service Agency's Watertown location is being terminated to save $278,049 annually. The leased space at 1720 4th Street NE covers 7,869 square feet and costs $238,328 per year.

    According to the DOGE website, the termination details are still being finalized, with both parties notified and a strategy under development. Dakota News Now has reached out to the Codington County Farm Service Agency and the Codington Conservation District for comment, but no response is available at this time.
